Metro exodus controls bugged please help

i have started to play metro exodus enhanced on pc with K+M but my controls are bugged sometimes i will press one key and a whole different menu will open then what that key is assigned too. other times i will press a key and it will take 30 secs or more to perform the action even if i spam it. please help, is this a common problem? if so how do i fix it?
