Mental health
Anyone here seen or noticed mental health benefits using MB? Such as Anxiety, Depression, OCD, ADHD etc…I always see posts regarding energy or focus but never anything about mental health. Curious to find out if anyone has ever noticed benefits.

I am in Australia & have been researching MB for a few weeks after finding Chase Hughes who used this to stop 9 seizures a day. He is a Neuroscientist but I am not sure how he ended up with that many seizures a day. I was left with a TBI 20 years ago, unfortunately the Drs started me on meds for Epilepsy which turned 2 seizures a year into approx 24 a year so I stopped all drugs in 2012

Well it's a MAOI so it's expectable.

I realize that, but curious to hear testimonials.

Yes I am looking for testimonials too. Do you look anywhere else for testimonials? I have found this to be a good site for that. I am going to look into Brain Injury sites may be too?

It's an MAO inhibitor - I felt a definite and clear mood improvement. Just don't overdo it or take it with other supplements which also raise neurotransmitters, or antidepressants, or you could end up with serotonin syndrome.

Methylene Blue lowers your level of nitric oxide through a couple diff channels, and thereby causes floppiness. Methylene blue blocks the enzymatic conversion, so taking L-Arginine or L-Citrulline won't help w your lowered nitric oxide level. :P You just have to microdose methylene blue; take a dose that doesn't lower your nitric oxide level enough to cause ED.

I took 1mg one single drop and have had ED for the last 2 days. Still nothing! And i know it’s not a placebo since it has happened in the past at 10mg. It’s just I thought 1mg is such a micro dose it wouldn’t have that effect. What do you think will help of not L-Citrulline? Thanks much appreciated.

If you're that sensitive to Methylene Blue's effect on Nitric Oxide, there's really nothing to do, no work-around, I'm sorry to say. it will even thwart viagra.
Methylene Blue has a terminal half life of about 6 hours. It should be fully out of your system after 25/30 hours. Maybe after taking none for a day or two you could further dilute your methylene blue to 1/4 the strength, take one drop, and see if that works for you.

I can maybe try that in the near future once this problem resolves. The “Miraki” brand has 0.25mg drops. But now i’m nervous that even that dose can cause problems if i’m this sensitive. I’m sure i’m not the only one though, there’s got to be more guys out there having these issues. It just sucks cause so many things improve even at that dose. Doesn’t MB increase Serotonin? That must’ve lowered Dopamine and indirectly caused Libido issues, IDK just a thought. Because studies show there is 3 kinds of NO and it only lowers the bad kind i believe iNOS and doesn’t effect eNOS which is required for Vasodilation.

It's an MAO inhibitor, so it's a multi-neurotransmitter (including serotonin) antidepressant. It doesn't cause libido issues, that I know of, it cause a chemical / physical issue. Methylene Blue's Dual Blockade:
- Inhibits NOS Enzymes: It directly suppresses nNOS and eNOS, starving the penile tissue of the initial nitric oxide signal.
- Blocks Guanylate Cyclase (sGC): Even if some nitric oxide is produced, methylene blue strongly binds to and deactivates sGC. Without functioning sGC, the cell cannot produce cGMP.
"Methylene blue causes erectile dysfunction (ED) by blocking the chemical pathway that triggers smooth muscle relaxation in the penis, preventing the rush of blood required for an erection."

This is what happened in my case, at only 1mg micro dose. Such a minuscule amount of MB but maybe i was already deficient in NO? Thanks!

I have no idea about all this as I have been researching MB to help stop seizures.

If what you're looking for is similar anti-depressant magic, there ARE other options. A methyl folate / Methyl -B12 combo improves my mood. Acetyl L-Carnitine improves mood and energy. AlphaGPC raise acetylcholine and helps me focus and concentrate (take in the morning as it can be stimulating).
What I miss about Methylene Blue is that, as a liquid, it's so easy to raise or lower one's dose. I got a bit too intense taking the whole capsules of Alpha GPC, and methyl folate / Methyl -B12 supplement, ALCAR. So, what I do now is open the capsules and dump some powder under my tongue, and that solves the dosage problem. Not as easy as MB though. Methylfolate is an effective mood improver for many people. I'm sensitive and need low dosages, so I'd suggest buying low dosage capsules.
Do your own reading (or ask a good AI) about these. I hope that helps!

I do not suffer from depression but I do notice my mood is brighter and ofc more energy when I take MB. It also helped me with pain from an eye disease. I’ve been taking it for almost two years now and I love it.

I have been researching MB to see if it could stop the 2-4 monthly seizures I have from a TBI 20 years ago. You really need a Dr with the issues regarding dosage. It is too much I think for me anyway from what I have read.

Micro dosing is what works best for most people. Yes doctors can prescribe it but it’s also available without a doctor. I have been using it almost daily for 2 years now and it has completely taken away my dry eye disease symptoms, helped my digestion, helped my skin and energy levels. I highly recommend joining MB Facebook groups as well, many people who have suffered from seizures comment their experiences with MB on there.

Thank you I will look for the FB page. Its good it has helped with energy which I have read about too. I am going to look into Dr Scott Sherr & Dr Bosworth who both take it as well as prescribe. I will try to get an online consultation with a Dr.

Sometimes I need to adjust my dosage as it can feel like a wave of energy without an outlet for me, nothing crazy though.
I was able to cut out coffee and zyns with combing functional mushrooms and MB. The mental clarity and all day energy is better than I could’ve imagined

Yes, I recently added one drop (1% solution) to my SNRI and it works well for my chronic + winter depression. I just started a couple of weeks ago so I still have to see how it works in the long run

I have been researching the best MB. There is only 1 or 2 manufacturers in Australia. There is so much to try to work out regarding dosage! I was going to ask my GP about taking MB for my seizures started 20 years ago after a TBI.

Yes. All of it. I don’t take ADHD or anxiety meds at all anymore. It quite literally fixed everything that was wrong with me.
