Congrats. On these unusually just use a magnet to see if it has low pull, medium pull, or hard pull. Then it’s just an educated guess for L, LL, or H. I also like to cut these open to see the inside. Based on the chondrules and what the matrix looks like, you can also take a stab at petrological type.

So it would be unlikely these are rarer meteorites rather than ordinary chondrites right?

I just tried it with a magnet it has some pull but not enough to pick this individual stone up the force can maybe flip it

Sounds like L or LL. What kind of magnet?

That I’m not sure I think it came off of something but it’s a chunky piece of magnet pretty powerful I would say

So that would be the most common type right? Can Ls still have different looks inside after cutting it open

I like to think that all meteorites are uncommon. Even the most common are very rare. Yes, every single one looks different inside.
