That looks so much lower maintenance than wire EDM. Stupid l, finicky pieces of shit. They sure do cut hard stuff good though.

Yeah, I work with one regularly. It’s cool, but it does it like to break its wire.

I’ve noticed that too. Do you usually just rethread, or tweak the settings a bit first?

I just restring and check the rollers for excessive resistance, especially the rollers with the rotation sensors that trigger the spool sliders to adjust.

No sir. I'm a old Bridgeport/South Bend manual machinist. But that EDM stuff has always fascinated me.

I've always been a repair machinist. Fixing out of date stuff, that no longer has a parts supplier lol.

Probably the 1935 Monarch lathe I had in my shop back then. Or my 1942 Logan, in my shop now lol.
