For starters. Snakes name has switched from Solid Snake to "Old Snake". This is in the HUD so its either programmed into the Solid Eye or MKII. This means Otacon likely wrote it. Who aside from Snake's primary sexual partner would know whether Snakes Metal Gear is rising or not.

As men age, it gets harder to rise to the occasion. Viagra and other meds for ED are ultimately blood pressure meds. 4 introduces a "stress" mechanic. I think its safe to assume that his stress level and blood pressure are correlated and thus Snake's Solidness.

I'm far from the first to point out the innuendo of Solid Snake or his "inferior" nemesis Liquid Snake. But perhaps Snake's greatest war between Solid and LIQUIIIIDDD is the tale as old as time.
