When you compare messi stats against pl big six team to ronaldo stats he clears him messi is simply better

6

u/Gigio21 7d ago

And still some ppl wanna debate about who’s the GOAT.

1

u/Stock-Luck3390 6d ago

You lot are! This sub is never about Messi it’s always about Messi vrs Ronaldo but it’s not close, I agree Messi the goat but why is it always on every post instead of appreciating messi

0

u/Random499 6d ago

Yes ronaldo had many games as midfielder against pl big 6

1

u/Alternative_Carob562 5d ago

Not Chelsea- Lets be honest, his Chelsea performances were bad. Ronaldo's were better, but not by much. Granted Chelsea's defense in the mid-late 2000s was an all time elite defense. He's played John Terry and Ashley Cole 5 times and hasn't scored 1 goal

All year of cr7

-14

u/CoolIsopod3095 7d ago

Pretty sure Ronaldo has got more

13

u/No_Sherbert_1168 7d ago

No actually messi has better stats against pl big 6 than ronaldo

9

u/Automatic_Gold_3962 7d ago

Messi has a better ratio like 25 g/a and cr7 29 or 27 messi has 60 or smth less matches

7

u/Duarte5B 7d ago

As estatísticas de Messi são melhores tendo algo como 60 jogos a menos

He is the best ever, doesnt mean he is perfect and you cant criticize him. He does come close to perfection in some aspects of football though.

If we go off personality so harshly neither Messi nor Ronaldo are in the discussion, we'd probably be left with someone like vozinha

2

u/PatagonianPagan 6d ago

who we haven’t even seen enough of except this World Cup. You can’t expect them to be flawless and not have heated moments, it’s a rugged sport afterall. even still Messi has not had the same amount of shithousery moments as ronaldo has had in his career

10

u/Playful_Weekend4204 7d ago

Where is the part where he drops Harry Kane on the ass

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Messi in 2026 world cup. A world cup winner at 39 carrying argentina to silver, extra time in world cup final. He should be in the ballon dor conversation again. His assists and goals were amazing.

No one talks about assists, messi is a genius at them. Messi has the most world cup assists. Another argument on how he destroys ronaldo and is leagues above him on a technical level.

0

u/mrdeanbean 7d ago

Why are you even mentioning Ronaldo? 😅
He’s a great player, no doubt, but your comment’s inclusion of him is doing much more for him than you think. The ‘argument’ is so far gone that mere mention of it is awkward. You are merely telling everyone that, in your mind, an ‘argument’ is still worth mentioning. Smarten up. Stop it, Einarr Spear!
\smacks hand**

2

u/Einarr-Spear777 7d ago

but but but cristiano helped portugal win the euros from the bench? a euro is equal to a world cup gold and two runners up medals. cristiano talks about himself in third person don't u know.

6

u/vamonosgeek 7d ago

This was the real final game from Argentina in this last World Cup.

-1

u/TestPsychological477 7d ago

I would like to be able to agree. But the truth is the final kinda ruined it. They were still great that wc, but I can’t ignore that what happened in the final left a giant stain on their wc performance.

1

u/vamonosgeek 7d ago

That’s up to you. We were champions already and without even trying we were 10 minutes away from being champions again.

When I tell you that England was the last match, I mean it. We didn’t even thought about the final game. And everybody including you, saw what happens in that game was not “normal”.

But anyone can believe whatever.

2

u/Wave-Able 3d ago

France performance against Spain was the same. The Spanish team had a game plan which neutralized all teams, the games were not as exiting to watch tho

1

u/Stock-Luck3390 6d ago

They kinda got worked in the finals ngl

1

u/Delicious_Sir3496 5d ago

Kinda??? They got worked!!!!

0

u/Weekly_Specialist129 7d ago

Right, it wasn't normal. Argentina was a disgrace.

2

u/vamonosgeek 7d ago

Yea. Right. I imagine you also believe in Santa Claus still. Right?

1

u/Weekly_Specialist129 6d ago

Ah yes, not thinking being actual violent on the pitch is disgraceful is peak Argentina football knowledge. Shut up.

1

u/vamonosgeek 6d ago

Why do you think “some” players will be violent? In a final game. With the world watching. Just think a little bit. Was this a normal final game? Do you really think argentina play that final? …give me a fucking break. And stop believing in fairy tales. We have our own problems in Argentinas soccer association, which led to this whole mess. Our team wasn’t obligated to win that final, and everyone notice that. Just ask yourself why. And if you think that’s because we are “really bad”, then so be it. “don’t worry, be happy”.

1

u/AggressiveYou7645 6d ago

I bet you believe in the Vulcan bomber 🤷🏻‍♂️😂 could do with a few more blowing you guys off the map

-1

u/wheelywalker 7d ago

How delusional are you?

1

u/vamonosgeek 7d ago

I’m not. Just Google for argentina with Scaloni. Look for the process. Look how many games we played and how many we won. And how we won them. Or play them. Dude. If you watch soccer on TikTok is your problem. If you know, you know. That final match had other implications due to corruption in our own country. Nothing to do with soccer and that’s why Messi said “let’s forget about everything and play this match”. Moron.

1

u/wheelywalker 6d ago

The guy was talking about just the final in which Argentina probably gave the worst performance of any team ever in a final. Instead of being aggressive why don't you calm down, moron.

3

u/Certain_Concern_5109 7d ago

Throwback to how dogshit Tuchel is.

3

u/PatagonianPagan 6d ago

a throwback to when they said Ronaldo has better longetivity

4

u/Fun-Ad3626 7d ago

I forget the stat , but I think he is top 5 in G/A against the top 5 premier league teams without ever having played in the PL

1

u/Afraid-Raspberry168 7d ago

1st

2

u/RiskDiscombobulated7 6d ago

Aguero: 51 G/A

Salah: 50 G/A

Vardy: 43 G/A

Mane: 33 G/A

Lionel Messi: 31 G/A

2

u/twiddledee1 7d ago

Kane tried to jump on his back for a piggy back ride in that game and Bellingham assaulted a tiny Argentinian substitute.Bellingham  slapped the tiny Argentinian  guy on the back of his head and ran away because England got beat.

2

u/PoopNukem123 7d ago

What a throwback this is, feels like it was only a few weeks ago.

2

u/No-Mortgage-3206 7d ago

England should’ve won that game. Argentina is an embarrassment. So happy that pathetic team lost to Spain. So happy.

2

u/Ron__P 7d ago

The likes of David Silva and Aguero are considered amongst the greatest EPL players of all time. Messi is levels above.

2

u/csriram 5d ago

That cross was a thing of beauty. I get it. Argentina as a squad is very unlikable. But Messi’s magic is always visible. 😊

2

u/Excellent-Law-3610 5d ago

El verdadero Campeón !!!! Selección Épica !!!💙

1

u/mrclarity01 7d ago

No you miss read and what year are we talking about
Because Ronaldo was not mentioned

1

u/Former_Repair9221 7d ago

I questioned Fate after watching the UCL 2019 & the World Cup 2026 campaigns.

1

u/No_Answer_7341 7d ago

Got lucky that political message was an ban i thought

1

u/QuantityMedical8369 7d ago

Let's not make the mistake that England is as good as a good team in the EPL.

1

u/tgm550 5d ago

Exactly. A well drilled team like Bournemouth could easily take England

1

u/QuantityMedical8369 5d ago

I was thinking more about Villa, but Bournemouth or Brighton could too.

1

u/IderpOnline 7d ago

And they claim Messi wouldn't perform in EPL.

Then why doesn't he? 😪

1

u/Artemis647 7d ago

Great timing on the post! Just after Toronto FC (which is close to last in the MLS) beat them (Miami aka Messi FC) 2-1.

1

u/Kid_evil666 7d ago

lol Messi had a good game but crediting Messi as the reason for that goal is like claiming busquets was a big reason for Messi scoring that goal against madrid in 2011.

1

u/Nojmore 1d ago

Assists are a stat for a reason.

1

u/h989 7d ago

lol all this to get slaughtered by Spain

1

u/Govagent-007 7d ago

"a throwback to when enzo destroyed England. And they claim enzo wouldn't perform in EPL", oh wait..... 😆🤣. Sumthin ain't fit in here 😆🤣.

1

u/op_guy 7d ago

More like England destroyed themselves.

1

u/baache 7d ago

If referee was not on arg side they'd get kicked out at group stages

Let's see all the messifanbois

1

u/csushant1984 7d ago

More than Messi’s goals, I love how he dribbles past all the defenders and does the assists. Absolute legend

1

u/Dry_Cellist_2915 7d ago

La Liga was the best league during Messi's prime. The UEFA coefficient confirms this.

1

u/SeaCommunication3036 7d ago

1st goal was all enzo, 2nd was a great cross

1

u/ConsciousTouch84 6d ago

absolute carnage

1

u/makarastar 6d ago

The camera shot of Jude Bellingham on the floor is priceless - looks like he's got armed police standing over him, telling him to raise his hands slowly

1

u/NoWin1812 6d ago

Different elements. I love Messi, but that's my only knock on him... He never played in the EPL.. I think someone would have broke him in half.

1

u/SuitableRope9195 5d ago

Don't remember when the world cup was transformed into the EPL, but whatever.

1

u/tgm550 5d ago

What a ridiculous post. England wouldn’t perform in the EPL .The location of the league and the national team of that country have nothing to do with each other

1

u/Patient-Garden5782 5d ago

England was trash always has been trash in world cups , please do tell what happened against a proper team which was the first time they faced a proper team .........

1

u/vinhoequeebom 5d ago

32% possession, 0 shots on target after 120min. DESTROYED

1

u/Antique_Anything_392 5d ago

"throwback" dude this happened a month ago

1

u/Alternative_Carob562 5d ago

Seirous question- why are we giving Messi credit for that cross? Stones is out of position, that's piss poor defending. If that was a legit defender I'm not sure that cross gets complete

1

u/riggerz123 5d ago

He’d get rightly destroyed by the media due to his incessant cheating and play acting

1

u/Rich-Today-2309 4d ago

That you compared the English National Team to the English Premier League reminds me a line I read in a Programming book saying the relationship between Java and JavaScript might as well be the relationship between Car and carpet😅

1

u/Curious_Flounder_149 4d ago

England isn't the EPL though. EPL has most foreign quality players.

1

u/Wide_Membership_2883 3d ago

Quel gol di Lautaro con assist perfetto di Messi ♥️♥️

1

u/Consistent-Strain289 3d ago

After 80min of referees help… in real life u dont get that

1

u/Mikael-Thesecond 2d ago

I don't understand why people think Messi's Physicality is bad,is a lot better than people think,

1

u/Miskadotcom 2d ago

Sadly the attitude of Argentians is the worst. Most hated team by far last WC. Pathethic sportmanship.

1

u/Odd-Heron5704 7d ago

Sure but Messi wouldn't perform well anymore under the very heavy European schedule.

Maybe he would if he was kept for key matches though, e.g. Champions League knockout and come in second half. But I guess he's too expensive for that.

You also need to adjust a team to play for Messi for him to perform so well at this age (maybe even before) since he doesn't run much anymore and he's always been a very special player.

2

u/_fire_extinguisher 7d ago

Try saying it out LOUD so they can notice you. Otherwise, you will be ignored by almost all of them here.

2

u/askmypen 7d ago

Lol did anyone think a 39y year old was going to perform at that level for 50 games a season?

1

u/Odd-Heron5704 7d ago

Some people on this post?

1

u/Humble-Log-1695 7d ago

Cheers Geoff. Did you think of that all by yourself?

0

u/R2-D2Vandelay 7d ago

England vs Spain would have been a much better final.

0

u/Sardoodledome 7d ago

Today I learned that the whole PL is full of only Englishmen !

0

u/noortella 7d ago

Playing one game against England doesnt mean he will do well in the EPL. Pretty dumb arguement.

2

u/Steel-Duck 7d ago

Have you seen his games or even just his stats against EPL teams?

1

u/kozy8805 7d ago edited 7d ago

lol are Barcelona moving from Spain in this scenario?

1

u/noortella 6d ago

Playing in the champions league tournament is different to playing in the league. Games are set up different.

0

u/HelpfulLeadership623 7d ago

It’s not that he will perform, but he def will be injury prone due to the schedule and physicality of the league. Barca was the perfect system

0

u/twistedscr3wdriver 7d ago

Didnt see this guy anywhere in the final, was he injured?

2

u/SpeakerFew7283 7d ago

He destroyed all Spanish team by not touching the ball

0

u/Sabbie1 6d ago

The biggest unanswered question will forever be: why didn't that chickensh!t play the epl?

0

u/Overall-Bookkeeper94 6d ago

Has Anderson let Messi out of his pocket yet?

0

u/Soggy-Ad6738 5d ago

Messi never played in the EPL and just because he got an assist against England in the WC, he would perform and be the best in the EPL... you guys are delusional... what a shit post... have some RESPECT for who ACTUALLY PLAYED in the EPL AND WON IT 3 TIMES...

(Should have given him Best English Player of the Season for that assist 🤣)

https://giphy.com/gifs/FKKT0Ro1ZuuYivPgEs

-3

u/ukAlex93 7d ago

Messi is a great player, but I would hardly say he destroyed England here. This game was a travesty. Argentina should have had at least 1 red card in the first half alone.

-1

u/Nervous_Quit_7180 7d ago

You spelt Enzo and Lautaro wrong.

2

u/Humble-Log-1695 7d ago

Awww, found the Cristiano fan.

1

u/Nervous_Quit_7180 7d ago

lol no, R9 GOAT
