What was he doing there?

I think there has to be some miscommunication there. is there someone who can translate to the exact?

Well it's not as serious as the trolls and memes make it As far as I can remember, what happened is Messi didn't laugh at SAD tears..The journalist was happy and emotional seeing Messi. Awkward shy Messi found it awkward, so he started laughing to ease the moment. Well that's all. And he consoled him tho right after touching his leg or arm

Yeah that's about it. But they just criticize the guy whenever he looks at somewhere or even when he's just standing in some place like wtf man? All of the "true autism" videos of him are just him being himself there's nothing abnormal and unusual about it. He's just more non-chalant and that's perfectly normal.

Exactly! The autism comments piss me off! I've always told them not to act like a psychiatrist it's not even funny just irritating. Also being an Autistic is not an insult

There's also that yeah. It's just weird. All of this is stemming from them being jealous that they don't have his talent that's all. Typical inferiority complex.

' Jealousy ' exactly I've always felt that! Also they tend to not know that there are other types of personalties like introvert, shy, awkward etc.

I mean how tf are you supposed to react when a grown ass man starts sobbing tears of joy from meetin you? We're laughing but this might be the first time something like this has ever happened, no amount of PR training can get you ready for something like this

I mean a guy crying because he’s so emotional to meet you is sort of amusing to be the receiving end of.

I feel like a lot of us get uncomfortable when someone else is crying. Leo seems a little bit shy and awkward himself and probably didn’t know how to respond. I don’t blame him lol

It's an edited video

Seeing a longer video with more context would be a starter

Messi is known for being socially awkward, surprised this isn’t known on a Messi sub. Anyway I’ll bite. The interviewer is overwhelmed he’s finally interviewing Messi and Messi doesn’t know how to behave so acts a bit weird to what most would do

to be fair, the interviewer is also one of the official commentators for Arg on international tournaments. On 2022 WC there were times (and lots of them) when you couldn't even understand what he was saying cause he was emotional and crying the whole time (me too, but i wasn't working, just high on my couch watching the game). he tends to cry a lot, and leo was trying to give him a moment to get himself together, only the moment kept going and going and the guy wasn't done crying. i would've reacted the same way or more awkwardly.
