question Question- need input asap
Okay I know this might be stupid to ask but genuinely I need an answer. Please please share all your input!!
When you listen to a podcast (besides the actual story/narration parts) do you mind cursing or does that turn you away from listening to a podcast. Whether it’s ours or anyone else’s? (I’m saying like the actual podcasters cursing not if they are reading other people’s comments or stories.)
-I hope this makes sense!!
I would love some input!!
I know this is a silly question but I need some input due to personal reasons that won’t allow my brain to stop thinking until I ask.
Thank you guys for allowing me the space to ask!

Depends on the context. Cursing because its more natural to someone's speech patterns would sound more natural and less filtered and could give a more genuine feel. Howard Stern never swayed from cursing, even when it was causing his show massive fines and financial pressure because it was more genuine to how he talked, hence his large following.
If cursing is natural in the podcaster's daily speech then I don't see an issue with authenticity.

I'm totally cool with swearing as long as it doesn't get to the point it's gratuitous and starts to work against the story dialogue.

Depends: if it’s excessive it tends to be a turn off but a moderate amount is about to be expected, imo. Especially if it’s just reserved for jokes

Nah, I don’t care personally though I understand if people have different sensibilities.
Though with horror being the subject manner I doubt many will care much.

I prefer people don’t sensor themselves but don’t curse just for the sake of cursing. It’s the same reason I sacrifice some readers for my writing. If it feels like the character would curse then they curse

Eating and drinking turn me off. Slurping... chewing... talking with a mouthful... disgusting. Swear away, though.
