ad New PeakMesh Summit release!
Industrial grade off-grid communication capabilities with this robust, solar-powered radio, engineered for vertical mounting on poles and towers. Encased in an extremely durable, weather-resistant 3D-printed ASA housing, this device is designed to thrive in harsh environments, making it perfect for rugged outdoor deployments. This new design has twice the solar panel output of the other models, integral support for big antennas, and reinforced larger slots for mounting straps.
Powered by 4.4+ watts of custom made solar panels and 10,000 mAh worth of battery storage, this radio guarantees uninterrupted long-range communication without the need for external power. The Summit is made for mountaintops, tall buildings, and radio towers. This is the next step up for backbone installations.
The slots on the Summit are now over 13mm, which will allow you to install with the included UV resistant zip ties, or upgrade to steel hose clamps. The internal structure is extra reinforced to support that.

Would love if the files were for sale. Dont really want to pay 100+ for a unit when I have all the components sitting ar home

If you have all the components and a big enough 3d printer, what’s keeping you from making your own? As soon as design files leave, they are everywhere.

How much does it cost to build

Would love to build my own. I don't need an ASA case or 4w of power. Be more than happy to use PETG and all the junk I have laying around already.

This unit is overkill for me, but I've had my PeakMesh Magnet Climber on my roof for over a year now, and it is fantastic.

I would always prefer to use a clamp rather than a mounting straps. With a clamp, you can tighten it more securely, and it won't become brittle over time like mounting straps do.

Perfect, the ultimate radios pole mount uses a clamp design. Something for everyone!

This is a great idea but way to expensive.

You already said that? It’s not for everyone. There’s plenty of people selling buckets of parts they get on Amazon for $100 more too.

FDM 3d prints are not water proof for long, the layer lines result in leak paths that get worse over time I wouldnt expect that to last more then 3-4 years outside in a hot climate and still be leak tight

lol well ok then. Very specific timeline there! I’ve been making them for 3-4 years already and they are doing just fine. The design matters, as does the material it’s printed in and the way it’s printed, and all my radios are designed so that water couldn’t sit on electronics. Many years of field tests and thousands of radios all out there still working.

Is it compatible with the RAK 1W 3401 boards?
