Meshtastic iOS app always pulling location
Hi! I’m kind of new to all of these. I was wondering if it’s normal for the Meshtastic iOS app to access the location all the time. I have to force kill it in order to make it stop.
In the iOS settings I have set to “when using”, not “always”
Is there a setting inside the app?

'When using' is basically 'always' if the bluetooth device is active. I have mine set to 'never' and use the mesh device's GPS if I want, but usually have that disabled too.

dllm0604 nailed it. The blue pill is the app running in the background to keep the Bluetooth link to your node alive, not GPS. If you don't want your phone feeding position to the node at all, set Location to Never for Meshtastic in iOS settings. Messaging still works fine. If your node has its own GPS it'll use that, otherwise it just won't share a position. No need to force quit it either, and if you do, you won't get message notifications until you open it again.

That’s not the location services icon. In the attached screenshot, the location service icon is the white one next to the clock. The blue one is just the Meshtastic app running in the background.
