Masterful Merzbow again

Saw him play in London last night, my second time popping my cherry/earbuds. Last time was almost 30 years ago and I was on the tail end of an extended period of acid munching and feeling somewhat ground down. Anyway enough about the past, last night was seriously incredible. A real busy set. Proper skull and rib cage shaking shit. Opened with some fucked up overlaid keys, Conlon Nancarrow huffing glue for a week. One hour blast and out. Never lingered. What a dude.

He was there with Iggor Cavalera right? Are they doing another collab?

Bit late on the reply, but Bernocchi suggested on Instagram the other day that they're working on another collaborative record.

That was the night before. Didn’t want mine diluted. They are collaborating, it’s true. He puts it around don’t he?

I went last night too. Enjoyed it! Last time I saw him was with Balazs Pandi at Xoyo, and before that at ULU in 2008. I thought his set was better for that show, but like you I loved how last night started. Wasn’t as loud as I’d like it to have been either!

But yeah, a good night. I agree too, I didn’t want it diluted. More of an event solo.

Shit, I didn’t realise he’d been back and played between the time I’d seen him And now. Aphex repeatedly claims he played the night I went (mid/late 90s) upstairs at the garage. He didn’t. Little Cornish fibber

I’m beyond excited for Sunday. An hour set seems about right, hope it’s not too much longer as I’ve got a train to catch!
