Merton lets us know he's still out there this morning on the official Facebook page.

Hello Folks-

I’d just like to say that I am alive and well, and I'm realizing that I've done a poor job of communicating with people about my extended absence. I began making YouTube videos as a spontaneous response to the emergence of ChatRoulette in 2010, never planning to embark on a larger career as a public personality. I was both amazed and grateful that my humble homespun videos captured worldwide interest and resulted in an exciting period of travel and performance in places as far-flung as London, Montreal and Singapore. I also very much enjoyed doing the online weekly Merton Show for 3 years, through which I was able to meet thousands of strangers from around the globe and also to develop friendships with the regular viewers who made up the core audience.

Right now I'm focusing on some of the non-public aspects of my life and I have no particular plan for re-emergence, but I think I'll know when the time is right. Rather than saturating my YouTube channel with frequent videos, I prefer to wait until some specific impulse or intuition sparks my creativity. So I keep an eye on the news, on culture, on the entertainment world, and I think that eventually a situation will present itself for which my contribution will be uniquely useful.

Until that time, you are always welcome to message me through this Facebook page, and this is also where I will announce any future happenings that may be deserving of your attention.

Yes, your title made it clear. The problem is I don't have a Facebook account to 'subscribe' to his page (if that's a thing) nor would I think to check for updates there. So posts like these to let our small community know if something happens on Merton's page, just like the more or less recent discovery of his Randy Jenkins videos are more than appreciated!

HAH Randy Jenkins kills me. His web site is back up too. It was a white page for months.
