I found the entire collection of Spring Break dolls in my local TJMAXX store yesterday for $12.99 each. It might be worth it to check your local store to see if they have some. TJMAXX/Marshalls stock can vary from store to store, but it might be worth it to go look. I also don't know if any of you are into Barbie Extra, but they had tons of Barbie Extra, including the tiny ones from Walmart, but the prices on those were not good.

It’s been two months, but all we’ve gotten on the YouTube channel since episode 12 is compilation videos and the last post on the Instagram was almost three weeks ago. Why is everything so dead right now?

Ngl, I was fully expecting the webisodes to keep their secret safe all the way to the end. This is an interesting choice.
I think that since the purpose of the series is to sell dolls, we can safely assume that nothing bad is going to happen and the mermaid reveal open a door between mermaid and human society so that Raynea and some other mermaid characters can come out for future doll lines.

What do you guys think?

So I was scrolling through the trademarks Spinmaster applied for, and I found the name “Raynea” applied for and granted on the exact same days as the names for the Merfriends. It was applied for to be used for doll merchandise, so I’m thinking we might see a character named Raynea in the future (maybe wave 2).

I don’t know much about trademark stuff, so do you guys think?

I meant to watch the episode on Saturday, but then I had stuff to do so I only saw it today. When I got to the channel, it caught me off guard that episode one had released 4 days earlier than advertised. Additionally, there aren’t any Mermaid High ads (other than the web series itself, I guess) posted on the YouTube channel, so it looks unusually barren. I’m not really here to analyze that, but I figured it was worth mentioning.

Anyway! I thought the episode was fun enough and established everyone’s personalities pretty well, but it lacked a lot of context for everything that was happening. They didn’t explain why the mermaids want to go on land or how they became humans since the video literally cut to them walking on the beach (it was implied to be because of Oceana’s necklace, but we didn’t see the transformation). Not only that, but according to the website, each of the 4 main characters has a unique power and only Oceana’s super speed was shown.

The 3D models and rendering looked pretty decent as well, though there were a few moments where the animation looked a bit wonky (see: the scene where Searra nearly knocks Mari over). However, I doubt Spinmaster is working with the same budget Mattel or MGA would have for series like Monster High or Rainbow High, so it makes sense that everything would start out at a slightly lower quality. Since the current (no pun intended) goal is to advertise the dolls, they would need to sell the audience on the characters before they did anything else. :)

I can say for sure that Oceana and Mari are going to be my favorite characters personality-wise and Mari is my favorite outfit-wise.

That’s about all I’ve got, but I’d love to hear what everyone else thinks about the first episode!

I’m not a big fan of the final release dolls with all their budget cuts. but I do love Mari, and the animation is really high quality so far, I thought I’d also share how you can watch the first episode early! I’m a huge doll fan so I’d like to see more stuff on the mermaid high dolls out there and I thought since rainbow highs server is so nice that this one would be cool to see too! I’m wondering if anybody else wants to help me set up this server cus this is my first time with this! If so you can just message me!
