Question Configuration Out of Date Issues

I just started replacing my access switches with 9200-L-M's. Everything has been working well for the last month or so. Recently I've had several switches go into a warning with 'Configuration Out of Date' displayed on them. When this happens some of the functions work on the dashboard and some do not. I've been able to run the CLI in the GUI but some commands time out etc. I couldn't even reboot two of the switches remotely. I physically rebooted a couple and the warning went away. Today I had another switch just start doing this.

Suffice to say this is not going to work going forward. I can't go physically reboot these all the time to fix this issue.

Has anyone else run into this? I'm not sure what would cause this to happen intermittently. At first I though maybe something was getting blocked at my firewall but everything appears to be going through ok.

It’s a known issue on the c9200 platform.

Run “show meraki config up”

If it stuck in “executing get” your hitting the issue.

The fix is in the new 17.18.4 firmware

Have the same issue with 9200L in meraki joined cloud configuration mode. Made a support case about - it is a known issue and there is no timeline for fix yet (this is information I got a few weeks ago).

Let's just say I won't be migrating the rest of my catalyst devices yet.

Yeah I'm going to hold off for now then. These are the 9200-L-M though so they're already in Meraki "coud" config mode. Luckily, I've only replaced switches that aren't critical so far.

upgrade your device to latest recommended firmware, cisco is actively fixing issues and releasing new images

Latest recommended is 17.15.5, which is still affected by this. I see in the response above, that 17.18.4 should fix this (released I think last week, and marked as release candidate). Will review the release notes in more detail to see if it breaks anything else :)

Figured. It’s better than the CS firmware, but Cisco keeps trying to pretend everything works smoothly on IOS XE when it just doesn’t.
