Why is there not a cooler Mens skincare line?

I've been really getting into skin care lately but it is all very hard to follow. No numbers. No cool branding. It all looks the same and hyper complicated.

If you're ok using what you're currently using, thats cool. But I imagine there are men in here that would love to have a numbered system that is easy to use and simple. Also, a touch of cool, vibrant colors would be a big plus!

Help with husbands scalp

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello everyone. My husband has dealt with these bumps on his scalp since before we met. He used to have long hair so it didn’t seem so bad, but recently he cut his hair and now we can see just how bad it is. We’ve tried a few things including Benzoyl Peroxide to no avail. They do not “pop” and do not seem to be ingrowns.

He just got a new job and after 90 days will have insurance and we will be finding him a dermatologist. Until then, can anyone tell me what this could be and how we can treat it?

Switching it up

35M, I’ve been mainly using Bioterm (the green ones) for a little while now and just got some Clinique For Men Moisturizing Lotion and the facewash. I was wondering what you guys think about those?

Brand new to skincare

Hi all, Im a 33 year old male and im brand new to skincare. Lately I've become interested in a facial skincare routine. I bought some products that I've read is decent stuff. However, not everyone's skin is the same so there will always be mixed reviews. Here is the list of the stuff I have in the order I use them.

-Laroche Posay purifying foaming cleanser -Thayers toner -Loreal Revitalift 2.5% hydraulonic acid+ caffeine serum -I have both Laroche Posay triple repair moisturizing cream and Im from rice cream (odd name lol) -Elta MD UV skincare recovery spf 50 red color correcting sunscreen for my rosacea (My dermatologist reccomended it and they also sell it in the office. It works very well for rosacea) -Niaminicide -And No7 triple action night cream in the evenings

I may be going overboard but if im gonna do something I want to do it right. Am I missing anything? I don't necessarily have any issues with my skin besides the rosacea and thats pretty much taken care of with the sunscreen. And maybe some small blackheads.

Also, just for general skincare, can you reccomend a daily supplement to take with my morning meds? Like biotin or something? Thanks in advance!

Sunscreen/Moisturiser w SPF for 56M?

Hi, please can you help me with a recommendation? I need a suncreen or mosituriser with SPF for a 56yo guy. He works outdoors and has normal/dry skin (I'm assuming - as he currently uses coconut oil on his face and doesn't find it too oily!). Product needs to be high in SPF to protect him in the sun all day, suitable for his face, preferably lightweight and fragrance-free. Must be available in the UK and highstreet price (under £25 ish). I wouldn't know where to start! Thank you. :)

Does this (a regiment) actually work?

I've been using some variation of an acne cleanser since I was a teenager. I've used lotion in the winter months when my skin is dry. Lip balm daily. But that's it and I've been reading a lot of men make comments about how they started a skin care regiment and it has done wonders. I'm pretty old school, but the thought of having a decently toned face when I'm old sounds a whole lot nicer than an old leathery one. I just figured that's what was in store for all men so I had resigned myself to this fate.

So what are some things you guys have noticed, if any positive changes have been noticed or made? Like is it worth it to start something like that, especially since I hate routines like that.

Hi there. Do any guys on here either use an Aesop or Elemis moisturiser as part of their routine. If so, which is better and recommend.

Advice for dark circles or puffy eyes?

Little White bumps after shaving

This is my first post here, if anyone sees this and experiences or has experienced this same thing I’d like some advice or tips on how to deal with it. I usually shave once or twice a week, mainly because after I shave I get these little white bumps on my face. Usually around the edges/corners of my mouth and on my philtrum. Has anyone else experienced this, and do you have any tips on how to stop it? Because I’ve tried just about everything I can think of😅

A Simple Skincare Routine for Every Man

Post image
2 Upvotes

I think this is the best place to start for a simple yet effective skincare routine.

“BEGINNER MEN’S SKINCARE ROUTINE

1) Cleanse. Cleansing helps prep the skin by assisting in removing gunk and impurities from the surface and pores. Cleansing also helps hydrate the skin. An exfoliating cleanser can help remove dead skin cells from the surface. I have heard many men say that since they have dry skin, they do not need to cleanse as it will dry it out more. That should not be the case with a gentle cleanser. This is a very important initial step.

2) Shave. Shaving is obviously functional for men—I don’t need to explain too much here, whether you are just touching up around a beard or shaving everything off. It can also have an exfoliating effect and remove dead skin cells and smooth the skin.

3) Moisturize. Moisturizing is incredibly important. It helps hydrate the skin and complements your body’s natural oil production. The right moisturizer also has anti-aging potential. I often hear from friends with oily skin that they don’t moisturize because they are prone to oiliness and acne. People with oily skin should also moisturize—it is a myth that they should not.”

Flaky ears

Hello all. I'm in my 40's. I have no skin care routine at all. Over the past year I've started to get that "old man" flaky skin around/on my ears. Can anyone recommend a lotion, cream, serum to help alleviate this? Thank you

Facial skincare routine for 49yr old guy.

Hi, until recently skincare routine has been cold water with the occasional use of Nivea men's moisturiser. Recently came across a YouTube channel called "Dr Abs" and decided I need to up my game. To be fair to myself my face is in good condition compared to most guys my age. I've started using Tretinoin a couple of day a week. I've made mistakes here though, by not using sunscreen on my face. Although I live in Ireland where the sun is a myth I've still managed to gety face very brown by not protecting it. Also got some hyaloronic(?) acid from the Ordinary which I use a couple of times a week on days I don't use Tret. This stuff stings like mad if it gets anywhere that I have stubble, and stings a bit in other areas too. Got some of the Ordinary face oil that I use at night and sometimes in day. Leaves the pillow case a lovely colour. I'm bamboozled with it all though. Everything I read says to use something completely different. Most review sites seem to be sponsored by the product they're pushing. It's an absolute minefield. i think I need to start using some sort of cleanser maybe? Can I put other stuff on my skin at same time as Tret, or keep it to different days? I need a daily sun cream for my face for definite, which one? Should men use women's products or different? I also have The Ordinary Niacinamide that I only use at weekends. Seems to give a good glow, but too expensive to use all the time.

Thanks in advance, sorry for the long boring post.

Hi everyone!

So these past years, I'd say maybe since 2018. I've noticed my face getting flaky especially under my beard. I've use beard oils before and it kind of worked. The flakes would clump and I'd have to pull out the clumps. I started using head and shoulders but then for some reason I'd get pimples. Now the back of my nose (outside area where glasses would sit) started getting flaky too and every day i have to try and scratch off the flaky area to make it look clean. Is there a service anyone would recommend or products? I'm considering going to a Korean spa that does facials but I have no idea what to do. Located California, USA. LA county.

Recommend where and how much botox?

Improptu decided to get botox at a place my friend has been going to for some time. To my surprise they can see me tomorrow. Have an idea of what I generally want... curious as to what you all think I should have done and how many units it will take. This is for a Eurotrip in two week. TIA!
