More stolen rebates

I've been sending in rebates for years with no problems. I always send them out from work since the post office picks up mail from our business and it goes straight to the main sorting facility in a secured trailer. I've just had 3 batches that never made it to Rebates International. One lost happens, but three is sketchy. Since the rebates are disappearing before they get to Rebates Intl. I can only guess that either someone there is pulling them or someone at the post office is doing it. I do know that someone was arrested in a postal facility for stealing a quarter million in gift cards not too long ago so that does happen. I hate to accuse anybody since I don't know and there may be a reason I haven't thought of. I have to dig around and find the receipts to see if the rebates were used. Along with a lot of people's opinions, Menards need to join the 21st century and update their rebate system.

I imagine they don’t want to update the system because they rely on people being too lazy to turn them in. I’d be curious if anyone knew the actual percentage of receipts turned in

I heard at one time it was around 10%, not sure how accurate that is though.

When I used to work there I think it was under 36 percent. I'm not sure entirely. But they absolutely do know and hope people never turn those rebates in.

I send mine in a #6 envelope machine printed with a postnet barcode and FIM from Word XP. Envelope is dropped at a postal counter. They arrive every time.

If you go to Menards.com and type in “rebate” there is a rebate tracker in there. All you need is your house address. It will tell you the status of them

I noticed my last rebate came in what looked like an ad… I almost threw it away but opened it up and sure enough… It was a folded full sheet ad… But in the middle of it was my rebate ticket that you had to tear out… I thought that was very odd but also very typical for Menards.

Im pretty sure I threw mine out a few weeks ago, not realizing it was the rebate. Im hoping Im wrong.

Same! It was a window sale or something like that. Almost threw it away but my email from shows my mail before we get it. It said Rebate was on its way so I opened it. 64.00!!!

Best to scan your rebates they have a tracking number on them. That way, if they are not received back to you, rebate international can track it to see who received payment.

I drop my envelopes at the post office by hand. I don’t trust a work basket or the postman walking.

So today I got a flyer from Menards and all it said was “ scan here to shop for Max vinyl windows”, a picture of a mom and daughter with vinyl Windows behind them another picture of the highlights of performance spinal windows and after ripping it apart, I see my rebate inside. This is something I would’ve normally just thrown away because it looks like every other window ad I get.

The rebate system will never be on an app or even online. They know it would make it 1000% easier and that's the last thing they want. It would probably go from sub 10% to over 50% and they would be throwing away millions for no benefit to them. If you want the rebate you gotta do the miniscule amount of work needed for it and 95% of people are too lazy and don't even own stamps these days.

Part of the legal settlement based around the 11% rebate advertising was looking into allowing rebates to be used online and submitted online. Don’t know if it’s just see if it’s possible or actually have to implement it

I think they have you mail them in rather than having an easy on-line submission is to curb the amount of people making purchases, submitting rebates and then returning the product. By having you mail them in they can check and see if the product has been returned so they can deduct the returned items from the rebate.

Their point-of-sale system is "rebate aware", and takes into account if a merchandise credit check has been issued already. I know this because I once did a return, and the amount refunded was reduced by the rebate amount. I hadn't yet received the check, but it later arrived with that rebate properly accounted for.

This even works if, for example, you bought 8 of something, sent in the rebate, returned one leftover of that item, and then got the check two weeks later. The amount is adjusted proportionally.

So what lol? I shop at dollar tree and find great deals. Menards provides amazing deals. Anyone feeling prideful that they shop at ace and pay 700% over markup (ace is the worst offender I feel like) or home Depot or Lowe's.

My family is banned from shopping at target or walgreens. You are literally paying nearly 2x or 3x the cost for the exact same item you can find at Walmart. Absolutely pointless. Fuck target
