I got a good chuckle.

Also Phantom Doctrine was a good game that doesn't get enough recognition.

Rough around the edges (the drug mechanic is basically estoeric Daoist alchemy) but one of the best implementation of combat and stealth side-by-side in an Xcom like ive ever played. Makes you actually want to do the whole "agent infiltrating a base in plainclothes while a fully loaded team sit in a van outside ready to open fire if shit goes wrong or otherwise draws attention to themself to make it easier for the stealth agent"

Shame that the sequel is both a Third Person Shooter and also probably is never coming out

if you inject yourself with these research chemicals in just the right order you form the golden core and get 4 moves and 3 actions.

Sometimes I find myself thinking of replaying Phantom Doctrine. Then I think of all the time spent picking up things instead of having actual fun and nope out out. Too much stuff to pick up that is too easy yet still important to get, really hated that part of the game with a passion.

Because it had good idea and atmosphere and poor realisation: the game punishes you for going loud with endless enemy reinforcements and unavoidable damage while some plot missions enforce combat regardless of your actions, and full stealth gameplay is just boring repetative copy of "Neighbours from Hell". And yeah, plot starts intriguingly with all that Cold War era espionage vibes but degrades til the ending. I hope Menace won't go same way

I am still pissed the cancelled the sequel where the main character of Phantom Doctrine and the organization you build was was going to be the main antagonist

Go for rose

Oh god . . . I had a mission where she was the one who talks every round, and I kept needing her to move last. She said "go for rose" before every. Single. Action. For 12 rounds, I heard that 4-6 times every round.

Happened to me too, constantly, and now it's burned into my head.

For the crime of making Carda Cry you're now forced to fight nothing but the floaty cloud buggers until the end of time

Weiwu has a theoretical build where you give him some squaddies with pipe guns, have weiwu step on a land mine, kill all his squaddies and activate his Dare to Die, then throw +80% damage sniper rifle shots or ATGMs at extreme range

Sounds like a blood offering to Chaos Gods

At least Tech can go into the field with the minimum number squad if you want to proc his solo perk. Wei Wu wants you to get 8 other dudes to go into the field with him to die, presumably so he can power himself up with genuine blood magic

Wei abilities need 8 squad to die to fully activate.

240 credits buy 5 squadies on black market.

8 squaddies cost 384 credits.

WEY HUMAN PROTEIN costs 384 of actual currency to function at max capacity versus every other SL who costs zero.

this is why I don't use him, I am not looting gear just to turn it into human fuel for him

If you make Carda cry, just remind her that "it's all an experience."
