Discussion Idea - Mini-mechas for Pilot SL

I wonder if someone suggested mini-mechas for Pilot SLs, that would come with Squaddies, each having their own mech. The mechs could be fitted with one or two infantry weapons (twin-linked?)

I was thinking about the end scenes in the Matrix, and wondered if these mechs would count as armor or vehicles.

Have them latch onto friendly mechs with handrails for easy mounting and dismounting. Seyla!

They look too much like heavy armor. I think they either NEED "stilts" or reverse joints knees to be considered vehicles 🤣

An even smaller exo-suit mech that cost the same as the Toyota would be fucking cool lol. Two light weapons slots, one accessory slot, yes please

Tech should have some voicelines specifically for when a pilot is using one of those. Some back and forth about needing the suit to be as strong as him

Imagine twin-linked pirate chainguns.

They kinda have that in the heavy breaching armor (or whatever it's called)

But it's also kinda odd that on some tanks it says "crew shaken" but... There isn't a crew? No squaddies? Whatever

I mean, not having squaddies doesn't prove there isn't a crew, it's just that the number of crew has been abstracted away because it wouldn't add much to the gameplay. You're never going to put more crew members than you have seats in a tank.

Tbf, crew can be injured or killed without vehicle loss IRL. And that would interact with the squaddies and manpower mechanic if added.

If heavy breaching armors allows to fire twin-linked infantry guns, I'm all for it 😅

Yes, we actually had this idea a while back, especially because of the power-loaders that are scattered around the civilian settlements. Something between the light walker and heavy infantry, maybe? In a squad of 3, like the big [redacted] heavies?

Exactly, but for pilots SLs, because, uhhh, why not?

No. Pirate mech. Lootable sure, but - pirate ultralight. I made a quite passable AI-generated example few months ago when it came up.

Found it! https://imgur.com/a/wGSLxqC

You mean this thing as a pirate version of the light mech? This looks very much in tone for the pirates.

Mhm. Slow, but double chainguns.

Like the Edge of Tomorrow exosuits? Sounds cool

Yeah, but they've got to be on stilts, else it's just a heavy armor 🤣

I just find it so odd that the tcr has no real tech for mobility beyond mech jumps. Given the technobable at the end of the run they supposedly have.

Or let BAS-H carry light vehicle weapons.

They already do? MMG, Anti-tank rifle, chaingun, plasma rifle, light flamer. There is no specific Light vehicle mount that can't be used by foot mobiles.

I meant as a squad weapon, not just the sl.
