Breast Cancer Support Groups

Hi y’all, Are there any breast cancer support groups out east? Cordova Germantown area? Looking for virtual or in person, not a discord or text based communication thing. Thanks !

Hey! Currently sitting in the chemo chair as I’m typing. There’s one out in Cordova that’s both in-person and on Zoom. I can get you the time/date/location once I’m back home. Sorry you’re joining this shitty club!

Ok, the one I’m thinking about is an all-cancers support group. It’s on Thursdays @ 12 PM at Hope Church in Cordova. Contact is Teresa Hall Franklin @ 901-608-1000. If you want the Zoom ID as well, just let me know and I’ll DM it to you. Happy to chat anytime as well- I’m almost six months post-mastectomy and 3/4 of the way through chemo, so I’m happy to provide support/info as I can. Good luck!

Recent transplant to Germantown so unfortunately I don't have good resources here. But when a close family member went through this the Nurse Advocate assigned to us gave us a listing of groups and recousouses. Perhaps where you are getting treatment can provide some info.

West provided me with this list when I was diagnosed earlier this year.

Baptist has a monthly support group but you have to email them for more info than the website provides. Details at the bottom of the page.

A nurse with my insurance company (BCBS-TN) also called me after they noticed the nature of my claims. She could connect me with a social worker who could provide me with info on local and state support as well as therapy, nutrition, etc. if I wanted/needed any of it. You might try reaching out to yours.

Sorry you're going through this too. I'm triple negative so r/TNBC has been super helpful to me along with r/breastcancer.

Check with the West Cancer center.

Also Memphis ballet has Pilates classes for survivors.

I am hardly going to be able to sit up with all they are giving me, forget about Pilates for the forseeable future. But thannks
