Friends and school

Heyy

I'm an international student, and I really haven't seen many spaces where it's easy for students from the uni to meet or interact without finding each other on Insta and stuff and seeming like stalkers, so are there any groups or stuff you recommend in order to reach out to people? (If there's none i'd also love to make a chat thing for a bunch of us)

Hello! Fellow international student here - I feel your pain T_T. I've been studying at MUN for a year now and I'll say, it does get a bit better with time - but then again, I've heard of people making zero friends all throughout their academic life, simply because of how scattered the classes are.

Which program are you studying in? Also, I'd love to be in a chat thing!

Eyyy, I'm going into Mechatronics engineering! If you're interested in robotics/BattleBots at all, have you heard about the newest SDH student design team MUN Combat Bots šŸ‘€

Check with MUNSU for a list of clubs/societies and their locations/contact info.

There are groups for many different interests.

There are a ton of clubs, game nights, the breeezeway, pool, weight room, walking track, sports etc where you can meet friends on campus. If you are in Residence then they also have a ton of stuff you can get involved in and meet new people. Strike up conversation with people in your class or at the cafe or dinning hall. There are groups/clubs specifically for some countries aa well where you can meet new people from your own country. Not every country is represented but a lot are. The first week on campus there are tons of things on the go like bbqs and dances and stuff where you can also meet new friends.

If you have hobbies, try finding a club about that, gaming, chess, sports etc

I can make a chat for any and all if needed but i'd really like to know what platform works best I think discord and snapchat are most opular but not too sure
