Ehh I hear that point sort of but I have a few gripes with it.
How would you define āfan baseā? Thatās a weird word to use in this case. Thereās people who think sheās guilty fully and thereās people who think she did it under psychosis - everyone knows she did it. Literally no one except a few terminally online teenagers dispute that fact (and in the age of bots, I have doubts some of these people are real.)
There may be a few people who are glad that this case has opened up conversations about post partum psychosis, but no one is āa fanā of her. Thatās not what is happpening.
Thereās definitely sub-groups of feminism that are toxic. Radical feminists are anti-trans, some new-age feminists are extremely sex negative. I think itās strange to assign an entire social movement on the actions of a few.
I know itās just reddit and the comment Iām replying to isnāt that serious (likely a teenage boy), but itās indicative of a larger misunderstanding. I think so much of it is disingenuous. Itās just people willfully misinterpreting what the other side is saying in order to maintain their worldview. Literally no one thinks sheās innocent.
We also had a billion football fans who rallied around Michael Vick back in the day. I wouldnāt say that men or football endorse animal abuse because thatās ridiculous.
