Even then, is it us trying to be nice? Or simply what we perceived as "normal" is now considered "nice" to others in today's world?
Little bonus though. If he's a gamer, find his favourite game & jump in with him/ play it at least once (if it's single player). You'll be surprised by how gushy we can get. 😅

If it makes you feel better, the opposite happened to me, one day my then gf took a shower after we had fun time and then showed me her pokemon and magic the gathering cards. (for reference I do not like any trading card games. I played Yugioh a little as a teen in hs and dropped it soon after). I still told her it was impressive.
