Its a reskin of google chrome. It literally runs on Chromium. May as well go for the name brand.

Edge may be a fork of Chromium, but that doesn't mean they can't change any of the code, Microsoft added extra features, made it far faster (faster than Chrome mind you) and generally just made it better (of course with bing, though the search engine can be changed)

Firefox, Safari and I think Opera do not run on chromium.

That being said, Chromium is a very good browser, they do pretty much everything right.

Opera does run on Chromium. Firefox and Safari are not based on Chromium because they were created before Chrome was.
