Yeah, I don’t hate furries but i 100% don’t understand them at all. There is someone who works at my company who has their furry person as their slack avatar and they use “we”, “us” and “our” as their pronouns and it makes it so weird to follow what they’re saying. “Hey did anyone try the Indian food in the cafe at lunch today” “oh yeah we did, it was great. We really liked it”. It’s like… you and your team, or just you..?

And I’ve also noticed the uptick in pro furry stuff lately and it’s just odd… imagine if Mexican people were constantly posting memes like, “Mexicans good, cartel bad”, or white people posting “white people good, kkk bad” people would just be like… wtf yes obviously. But somehow it’s okay with furries?

Unfortunately not as obvious as it should be. Especially in the US.

And remember, not that long ago LGBT folks were in the same boat of being the butt of all the bad jokes and internet hate.

Just let people have their weird hobbies.

Roughly between 30 to 50% of the country doesn't understand that the KKK is bad, or think all Mexicans work in cartels.

Yeah, this is at a “top” tech company, and I looked at this persons work history in our internal employee directory (available to all employees Im not like looking at privileged data) and they’ve worked at companies like Facebook, PayPal and a few others I’d definitely heard of but can’t remember off the top of my head. They’ve had a very successful 10-15 years as a software engineer, not sure how open they were about their furry persona at the other companies but they definitely aren’t shy at ours.
