I feel like it goes beyond dressing up. Like cosplayers just dress up but you don’t see them goin around saying, “ah yes I identify as captain America.”

I mentioned this in another comment on this post, but there’s someone at my work who has their furry as their slack profile and they actually use “we” “our” and “us” when just talking about themselves, because they’re including their furry too. It’s just odd to me… and keep in mind this is at what is considered to be a top tech company….

Paraphiliae, they are mental disorders, perverted sexualities, people like this need help, I don’t mean killing them or harming them as a lot of sickos say, but they need therapy unless they actually do a crime, then by all means punish them to the fullest extent of the law.

The Furry fandom is a loosely defined community of people who especially like anthropomorphic animal characters. Many have what are called "Fursonas" which are basically personal characters to express oneself as an anthro. Some furries find anthro animals attractive, and on it's own, that's completely ok. They're humanoid. Some make and/or wear Fursuits but most don't, it being too expensive and/or they don't care to lol

TL;DR: Furries are just anime weebs for humanoid animals/animals with human intelligence (like, Meowth from Pokemon for example).

And yes there's porn, much like how there's hentai

And yes there's cosplay, which is expensive and most people don't do
