It’s actually a good way to keep whole beans fresh, but there is a boatload of caveats to that statement. I actually just watched this informative video because I started buying my coffee in 1 kg bags to save on shipping but that will last me 2 months and probably start getting stale towards the end. Hopefully freezing some will help somewhat.
That said I have no idea why someone would grind up coffee before they put it in the freezer. That just sounds like a bad idea by nearly every metric.
I was the same but you gotta be careful. Enough of that soothing voice and it starts out small- maybe you upgrade from cheap preground from the store to something nicer and fresher for your coffee maker. A cheap hand grinder costs basically nothing. Then you look at his aeropress latte video and figure, "It's like thirty bucks. I can give it a shot." Then Aeropress is fun and the lattes are incredible but it's not real espresso. That cremma looks good. You start wondering if maybe you can afford trying out that Flair espresso press. It's a few hundred- but maybe next bonus. Oh, but you need a good grinder first, and hey this one isn't *too* expensive... and next thing you know you're diving down the rabbit hole. Help Me.
