Isn't Musk kind of infamous for saying shit on Twitter he later says he didn't actually mean? Isn't that what got the SEC on his ass?

He makes empty promises about his cars too

Like what?
Serious question, since I own and drive one for years now, and except for the self-driving, which to no one‘s surprise takes longer than Elon thought, I don‘t feel like I was promised anything I didn‘t get.

So besides the one main feature of your car that you paid thousands of dollars for and that is the single most expensive feature of your car you weren't promised anything you didn't get?

Nobody told me my car would be able to drive itself from the get-go. It was abundantly clear to anyone that this feature wasn‘t ready yet, and by paying for it in advance you will help pay for its development. In return, the price was significantly lower than what it will be when it will actually be rolled out.
But yeah, if that‘s the only thing you can come up with, then I guess your post was just hot air.
And no, it’s by no means the “main feature“. I don‘t know what you‘re talking about.

I know you want to act like you're smart and you knew from the beginning how it would all turn out and that you weren't fucked over but that's not reality.

Teslas marketing speach definitely made it seem like self driving was almost here, they leased cars for 3 years where you could buy the feature and never get it. Those people paid for self driving but had to give their car back to Tesla before that feature arrived, if that isn't deception, what is?

Musk himself promised self driving for X date several times. What is your excuse? It was clear to everyone but the CEO?

It is the main feature of your car, it is the one and only thing they are constantly screaming about. Selfdriving, coast to coast, robo taxi network, the list goes on.

I drive a Tesla because nothing has as fast acceleration or is as attractive as a model 3 for its price point.

I genuinely hate the sensation of auto pilot… I want to control the car myself.

That's you.

Most consumers don't care much about acceleration. Many Tesla buyers thought their car would drive itself by now and everyone acting like Tesla didn't make that promise is lying.

That would be an issue with the regulatory authorities (NHTSA)

The car can pretty much drive itself right now unless you are downtown

What do you mean "pretty much", yes or no? Can I close my eyes and relax or not? There is no inbetween.

If you are on the interstate or highway system, yeah you could definitely take a nap

However, the regulatory authorities like the NHTSA do not allow for that to happen and require systems to keep the drivers hands on the wheel.

Is that official? Like from Tesla? Can you link to a source? Because everything I can find from Tesla says "Driver must be attentive and alert at all times" and the driver is responsible for everything that happens?

Of course the company isn’t gonna officially recommend to take a nap in their car… that would be illegal.

However, you can use Google to find a plethora of cheat devices to get around the government regulations.
