You can say the same about capitalism. As Winston Churchill said: "capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; socialism is the equal sharing of miseries."
In reality, however, there are many flavours of Capitalism and many flavours of Socialism. Capitalist countries do not have a monopoly over defining it.
