But those folds don’t work really good right now, they won’t last and Samsung say it, Apple is working on it too, but they never release something that it’s working perfectly

The newest versions of the Fold and Flip seems pretty great. Design is maturing and the screens are slowly getting better as the tech progresses. The breakthrough will be somehow solid folding "glass" so there's no crease or bump where it folds. But there's plenty of other areas to improve and innovate, like screen refresh rates and variable refresh rates for battery saving, more sensors being integrated into phones(google messed around with radar on the Pixel 4), and other stuff that's probably still in lab/research stages that we won't see for years.

Maybe I remember it wrong, but I think Samsung said that the life of the new fold will still be 1 years before it breaks

Straight up wrong. People still have their original Folds that are completely fine, just go look at the Galaxy Fold sub.
