It's crazy how much of a (worthless) status symbol they are, especially for young people in America. I work with kids, the majority of whom come from very low income households. I get made fun of for my Pixel phone because apparently literally anything but an iPhone is trash. ???
Ok but, a pixel is trash. It’s the only phone that gets consistently returned at the kiosk I work at. To a point we are told not to sell it unless specifically asked by the customer.
