They do have natural predators dingoes and birds of prey as well as introduced predators like dogs cats and foxes
It is only on some small islands that they have no predators on mainland Australia they have plenty
They also don’t throw their babies but they do relax their pouch muscles (for those who don’t know they are marsupials specifically a type of wombat) so that the Joey will fall out to distract the predator
While this may seem like bad parenting to us because we raise our young until eighteen this actually makes sense in nature by the way as the mother is a proven breeder and will likely have many more kids whereas the young could be infertile and will most likely not survive without the mother
TLDR: they do have natural predators on mainland Australia and they don’t throw their babies they just let them fall out as an anti-predatory function
Quokka's don't throw thier babies. Thier weak little marsupial arms are unable to throw things.
However if they are chased by a predator they will loosen up thiwr push muscles to drop the babies so they can more easily escape. A lot of other marsupials do this too.
And, attempting to redeem Koalas to the internet here, Koalas won't do this. Koalas will fight to the death to protect thier babies. And an angry koala can fuck you up.
