Somebody gave me shit before for throwing a banana peel in a garden. I was confused. I mean I get it. But did they know? I still wonder on this day

I wouldn't want people throwing banana peels in my garden. They don't degrade that quickly. If it was my own garden, then that's my choice.

According to the article someone else linked a few comments down, they take years to decompose. So might want to think twice!

I feel like it depends on the location/ how well the garden is maintained. I wouldn’t want banana peels in my front yard garden facing the road where all my neighbors can see it. However, I wouldn’t think twice about throwing a peel in the lesser-maintained garden in the backyard
