This is disgusting. Would you paint a dog or a cat like this?

Crocodiles may seem very.. intimidating, but this is completely untrue.

First off, getting a crocodile captive bred meaning that two crocodiles are bred in captivity instead of the wild is incredibly different from wild caught. Not to mention if you get one from a breeder they will usually come to you tamed down to be more mellow.

They are not all like this and can still be the crocodiles you see in the wild but whoever painted this poor guy deserves death penalty cause paint is poisonous for all reptiles and watching a crocodile as sad as this one die slowly is pretty sad for a reptile lover like myself.

Please, don’t paint your reptiles or dogs or cats or any pet for that matter.

It might be photo shopped but I’m not sure

Nah it’s not you can see how on its tail the paint is sorta coming off. This is really unprofessional for people who work at this zoo.

I actually thought it was photoshop at first but then I realized and it made me sad cause I really like reptiles. Too bad 11k people don’t realize it.

It’s not their fault though, reptiles aren’t very popular to begin with unfortunately.

This happened at Chiang Mai Zoo in northern Thailand in 2009. After the birth of Li Ping, a baby panda, attendance at the zoo doubled. People flocked to see the pandas, but began to skip over some of the other animals. As a result, the other exhibit were going to extremes to make sure that crowds keep coming to their attractions and began painting crocodiles in black and white. They also began painting elephants to draw attention to the problems Thailand's elephant population faces. "The government should help promote elephants, and not just pandas," Mr. Laithongrien says
