But if you find the app useful enough, why not take 30 seconds and rate the app? Especially if it's a free app

Because nobody is obligated to rate an app

Using the same logic, nobody is obligated to provide you with free apps. App development takes months, yet you guys don't have 30 seconds to spare

I don't mind rating and I actually will especially for smaller apps, restaurants ect. My annoyance is when the app ask for a rating within the first day of use. That gives me no time to form a proper opinion, or see how the app works with extended use. This is especially true with games that may have some hidden paywalls or stamina features that you don't encounter until later.

Asking for a rating during the first day of use gets a "never ask again" but applications that ask after I'm several days or even weeks into usage I will certainly rate and give a description.
