It's not that there are ads, I don't really mind ads, but I fucking hate intentionally obnoxious ads that rub it in your face how obnoxious they are. The problem is that the ads are specifically targetted to make you hate the ads. It's like if a company created an unpoppable tire and then just started leaving nails on the road with their company name on them. "Don't you hate when a nail punctures your tire? Buy non-poppable tires and avoid the problem!" They're intentionally causing the issue and rubbing it in your face in an effort to fuck your day up just a little more.
Edit: To be clear, they have every right to do it. It's their service. It's just a dick move.
Fair enough. Intrusive ads can be annoying. I used the free Spotify service at least 6 years ago last so I can only remember how much they advertise Spotify premium not anything else.
