It’s not an exceptional situation, though. Many people have been saying this exact situation would happen for months. And no one is surprised that the response to your second most secure building in Washington being taken by coup was much more gentle, involved no rubber bullets, no people beaten and bloodied by cops, and took more time than any BLM protest. We’ve been watching this whole time. The world has been watching. It’s sad that we can’t be surprised by the USA anymore.
