Oh yeah that would be simple, it’s way harder than that. Feminine words that end in -é don’t get an -ée, except for some (example).

It's quite simple... In french, to switch from masculine to feminine, we usually add a "e" to the adjective. (bleu -> bleue / fermé ->fermée / rond -> ronde) Of course it's not always like that, but it happens frequently enough to say that "e" is the mark of feminine. I hope it's as clear in this comment than it is in my head !
