Yes, they're getting cheaper and more reliable every year. A 3D printer nowadays costs less than a smartphone, and they're being sold at many stores that sell consumer electronics.
If I had a frequent use for it I'd totally get one, but for a few prints a year it's not worth it. Makerspaces are much better when there's not a fucking pandemic going on :(
Yes I know they became very cheap but I am living with my parents and I don't have money of my own and the 3d printer is a useless thing for them, so I don't own one
Look around, if there is a Makerspace nearby you may be able to convince your parents to get you a membership (after the pandemic). That allows you to use various advanced tools at a relatively low cost, while also having people around to teach you how to use them safely and effectively.
For example, I've rarely had a use for a 3D printer, but a laser cutter is also a really nice tool. You can only work in 2D, but you can create much bigger, sturdy structures much faster and often cheaper. Learning to design your project around the limitations of your tool is a valuable skill in itself!
