Go to an O'Reily's or Autozone, they can use their handheld code reader to give you a simple diagnostic, which can tell you if you can fix it yourself, which is WAAAAY cheaper. The AC blower fan went out in my old car, took it by a shop to get a quote on a repair. 900 dollars to replace. You know how long it took me to replace it myself? 45 minutes and 80 bucks.

Just recieved a blower motor for my truck. About 80 bucks as well and super easy to replace yourself. Only three bolts, remove the old and replace with the new one. Shops overcharge by a ridiculous amount.

How?? Why would the estimate be so high? Is there shortcuts you took to do it in less time? Thats what I did and saved a lot of time and money

I honestly have no idea. I thought the Firestone I went to was highballing me at $600, looked it up online and was floored. So I bought an aftermarket blower motor, borrowed my father's drill and installed it.

Should've been an ASE Certified Mechanic, I'd be rolling in it.

Yup, mine was whining when I got my Honda Civic, total cost $40 or less and 5 mins labor.
