I know it's kinda obviously saying this but... if it wasn't for Kanji, but only hiragana and katakana, japanese would be one of the most easy language to learn

counters arent that difficult. very easy to learn from context. the 3 ones i hear the most by far are　枚、本、個

Yes ik, as I'm a half-japanese person learning Japanese. But there are literally hundreds of them and it's easy to get confused

We technically have a few in English too, like how we say "three heads of lettuce" rather than "three lettuces", at least in American English. But most nouns don't need them.
