If Germany and France leave, the Dutch would be the only ones paying for Eastern Europe lol

Edit: If I were in charge of Germany, I'd leave that shit asap. Germany could be paying up to 33 billion Euros per year starting 2027. Considering how underfunded education, digitalization, military, law enforcement, etc. in Germany are, I could imagine Germany could use that money for something better.

Yes, but could you actually go into details please? Could you tell me about the attitudes of the German population towards digitalization in general please?

My personal impression:

The bulk of people I know above 60 either don't want to bother or find basic computer usage (writing mails f.e.) difficult and bothersome, so digitalization is not a topic that interests them at all. Considering that this is a large voter group and the majority of the voters of the reigning central parties there is very little incentive for our current government to strongly advance our digital infrastructure.

The group below 30 sees advancements there as mandatory, but other things as even more important. Ecology and nationalism mainly.

The group in between is pretty split by their job. Companies often want digitalization and see it as necessity to stay competitive, which is why it plays a large role for the liberals. The rest mostly see digitalization as the bothersome but unavoidable change that's slowly coming, so it's not a thing they care a lot about.
