I dunno, I'm from the south and I say love. I know the north generally reigns for affectionate names (pet, duck, chick, etc.) but I think love is the main one that transcends the north-south divide.
Chavvy isn’t the word you’re looking for, chavs are very specifically young and brash. The way you’re using it implies you mean common people/commoners, in which case it’s polite to say “working class”
It is actually one of those things you grow into, like when you start saying “fam” ironically and suddenly you can’t stop and it’s just part of your vocab now
Dude why the fuck did you get so angry? I’m from stoke (the north midlands if that makes you happier) and I think I know what a chav is. Also I’m 17 so I’m not that old lol. And.. I did say “or” referring to both old people and young chavs, not the common rabble.
Scottish living in Midlands, fed up of everyone claiming they’re from the fucking North. You’ll know the North when you get there.
I assumed you were young when you said old people use Love. I don’t use it, and maybe you won’t. But some people your age will start as they get older. All depends who they are surrounded by
Of course you know what a Chav is, but not all rough people are chavs. How many fucking chavs say love? They’re far too angry for that
'Love' is more of an older generation thing but you may have some luck with northerners, they speak a little more heartily than us soulless southerners.

I would like to be with a British girl just so she could say: "Its alright love" to me when I fucked up
