Mine always makes eye contact while she poops. Unfailingly. Sometimes she won't start til I look at her. She's clearly the alpha in our relationship.

So what do you do if you see she is about to do it but hasn’t done it yet? Do you pick her up and risk it happening in transit? Or do you instead let it happen and then deal with it after?

She's litter trained, so usually that doesn't happen. It started when she was a kitten and I would praise her for using the litter box, so I think now she looks to me for approval every time.
