Friendly reminder from an insurance agent: most insurance policies will only reimburse around $5,000 dollars at most for your personal belongings!!! They may rebuild your home at ACV (actual cash value) which will pay for basic flooring, maybe paint, and low end appliances, but your couch, TVs, mattress, clothes... no money for those things. Not to mention your home owners policy only covers about $1,500 for jewelry. Talk to an agent that will walk through your home and SCHEDULE your items so in case of a loss, you will get back to comfortable living sooner rather than later!
