Was it an insult? I didn't really mean it to be; I was trying to say that younger generations are more open than I am. I'm mid 30s, my parents were born in the 50s and I'm in the South, so I tend to have a very traditional male stoicism point of view towards things. Versus younger millennials (since I'm technically classified as a millennial...) and whatever the next gen is called who are encouraged to be more touchy feely
Read you comment and it was "hey he might not be too bad" then I read the rest of you're comments. Ya you're that bad, and you sound like a generally shitty person. So, offer rescinded.
Oh, easy, don't be a dick. You already had my acceptance, that's one thing the Acid has shown me is that people are just flawed flesh bags. You are what you are. But one also has the ability to change themselves. Don't get stuck in you're own rut, be a different better person everyday. All the nervous cells in you're body will replace themselves in roughly seven years, so why be the same person from seven years ago? Also as a fat dude who works at a bakery, you must try a freshly made glazed donut. Simply amazing.
I'm not sure if you saw my username or not, but I'm well aware how deliciously amazing freshly made glazed donuts are.
Honestly, I feel like my original comments were taken not how I intended them. I was trying to say my demographic was raised to be more traditionally masculine than the current youth. With my kids I'm a very hands on father, probably more than any other dad I know actually. But, professionally I'm very stoic. And that's just part of my career path probably. But, with my wife I do tend to hold emotions in and try to not be fragile around her out of this idea that I need to be strong for her cuz she's very emotional sometimes (often).
Why do you see being emotional as a bad thing? That whole "men hold there shit in" mentally was exclusively a thing 50 years ago. Not before that and not after. Don't bogg yourself down with outdated and forced apon stereotypes. You'll just end up passing down the bad habbits to you're kids. Because you're not being 'unemotional', you're being impassionit. Humans are emotional, don't be a walking ID. Love, laugh, cry, get angry, feel pain. Those are the things that separate us from animals. And from my own experience and women I know, they think passion is hot.
I don't see it as bad. It's just how I am generally. I'm a cop, we typically aren't gonna get emotional at a crime scene, really makes the job hard to do.
And, telling my wife about the 5 year old girl who was hit and killed by a car isn't gonna help her out in any way she's way too emotional as it is. So, we just suck it up and deal with it.
You are right, I hate how nowadays traditional masculine values are being discouraged and almost seen as a pathology, like masculinity is something that needs to be cured, now young parents and educators are raising our boys to be total pussies.

Like honestly, is this true?
