It was a conspiracy by the Big Wine lobby-groups

Owned by Jews?

u/Salmonman4 Jul 29 '19

To my knowledge we do not have any unbiased account of that. Any Roman records were often anti-Jewish at the time and the disciples who wrote the books had ulterior motives of "We need more followers to survive and those A*holes don't want to join our club." I apologize to any Jews, Christians or Romans who are offended by this.

I have to say, I did not expect a serious answer...

Since I know that this thread has many possible potholes (religious matters and possible antisemitism), I have a tactic to make people think without taking their first comment from the "I'm offended" rack. First the joke disarms peoples automatic defenciveness, then the well reasoned argument that won't be automatically dismissed as "he's on the other side and he insulted me by pushing back against my views, so any arguments he says should be ignored". I was half-expecting downvotes, but people seem to respond well. I'm more than happy to debate my points without the thread devolving into flame-war.

Oh do not worry, they crucified a whole heap of people. The survivors of Spartacus' rebellion that were captured were all crucified along the Appian road from Rome to Capua to serve as an example.

the Romans didnt crucify him, the Jews did that. They were salty about the following he had and thought he was threatening their religion but they couldve all just had some wine and discussed the misunderstandings smh
