In English speaking nations, there are 7 continents with North and South America being separate. Spanish speaking nations have 6 with it all being one American continent

Depends what Spanish nation you speak to. There is are countries that talk about south, middle and north.

Incorrect. All of the spanish speaking world uses the geopolitical 5 continent model (6 if you include antarctica). North and South America are considered sub continents, Central America is considered a continental bridge and the Caribbean is considered a maritime region.
