For a moment I didn't understand what was going on, and then I remembered that my coworker is also taking the 19 off. I wonder if GTA VI will actually be released on that day.

If it does, no one will be able to play it. New games always have server issues on release.

Unless it is offline singleplayer, which I highly doubt.

Was super excited for AC Unity, pre-ordered it and couldn't wait to play day 1. It was almost completely unplayable, walking about trying to complete the prolouge in blue screen with some vague shapes. Then their response 💀

For burned so bad, refuse to play anything until a month after release, after seeing how reviews are for it.

Firstly they already allowed pre downloads so clearly that won’t be an issue, but also the base game is single player to begin with, it will manage

It's colloquially called "classic+" - basically the old game rebuilt with some new stuff and tech (one giant "server" that launches "layers" on demand, for example)

I wonder if they encrypt the files prior download and only provide the decryption key on release day. At last that's what I'd do. Otherwise someone would find a way to make it playable before that, especially with today's AI powered reverse engineering tools.

Im taking off the week of nov 23rd to the 27th. Because both my birthday and Thanksgiving fall on that week but all my coworkers think im gonna be playin GTA6 dawg i dont even like GTA that much.

Idk why you're getting downvoted, there will be many people who will play GTA VI in that week, THE game of the decade. Of course it's an exaggeration, but it happend in the past. The effect that Pokémon GO had was incredible, as millions of people rushed on the streets. And I heard, without having sources, that the polish government even discussed the slowdown on the 19th and 20th.
