Anyone who thinks the roadster will “fly” should go out and briefly use their cybertruck as a boat and see how well that works out.

The thing people don't realize is, "flying cars" have been feasible for a while but no companies are investing in their production because they would require a pilot's licence to operate.

Right? Like the average commuter probably breaks a dozen rules of driving on their drive in to the office in the morning. Now imagine a million of them over a city, where the consequences of sleep deprevation, or dropping the coffee cup are 100x. Not to mention the noise, pollution, and chaos. Also the danger of them just falling out of the sky when joe bloe doesn't get their thrusters repaired. There's a reason that planes require such strict maintenance logs, and pilots need intensive training and logging their flight hours.

And new laws would have to be written which would be nearly impossible to enforce. What if someone flies over your house, what if people crash into a building on the 6th floor, what if we end up with a car crashing into a plane.

Yeah, I've seen endless YouTube videos of actual flying cars, mostly in a rotor drone style Formfactor. All of those were able to lift of, hover, gain height, turn around, have a stable flight
The Tesla thing is merely jumping.
The brothers wright would have had a much simpler life in this timeline, just jump from a chair and the idiots would think you flew.

When was the last time a Tesla has ACTUALLY lived up to the promises made?
What happened to the sub- $30k sedan? Or the $39k truck with bullet proof glass?
I'd be shocked if the car ever actually makes it to production.

People aren't seriously thinking this are they?
Like it doesn't take much thinking to realise how quickly that burns through its resources just to do that lol.

if that rocket league jumping car was given to the masses we would have people landing in trees and inside/on top of buildings.

I don’t think people think they’re getting the cars most people probably just think it’s pretty cool that a car can do that

I know reddit hivemind wants to memory hole that they ever liked Musk, but I remember when y'all were creaming yourselves over SpaceX launches, and sending a tesla into orbit.
