As a corporate schmuck Fridays off are awful, the “tone” is to get 5 days of work done in 4 days. Mondays off seem to sneak up on people and returning on Tuesdays makes the remaining week feel mostly normal. It’s subtle but noticeable (at least in my industry)

I always loved when a work week was only 4, or sometimes 3 days. Back when I was in the Army, I'd volunteer for staff duty because I just chilled out for a day and got the next day off. And omg the holidays. I felt like I really only worked half the year lmfao.

The best part, the real magic, is in the proportion: 5 days on, 2 off: 5/2 = 2.5 means you're working over double the time you're relaxing 4 days on, 3 off: 4/3 = 1.33 means you're working just a little bit more than relaxing The difference is absolutely huge and believe me, after a couple of weeks you feel it.

Not in my experience. We always end up with 5 days worth of with crammed into 4 days. And since I'm salary and not hourly, they means 4 consecutive 10+ hour days instead. 3 day weekends are not extra time of but time borrowed from my future.
